I/a. The race takes place on the bike path around Lake Balaton. This path is only partially a specially constructed bike path; other sections—mainly within towns—are designated on public roads. Especially on the southern shore, the bike path often runs on shared roads through less trafficked streets and bike-friendly roads within towns. In these areas, participants must proceed with caution and strictly adhere to traffic regulations.
Special attention is required: when the designated running route crosses a main road (crossing according to police instructions) and when the designated running route crosses a railway track (crossing according to civil guard instructions).
In these areas, participants must follow the instructions of the police, race officials, and civil guards. When crossing Route 71, police will direct traffic to ensure the safety of runners. At railway crossings, if the light is red or a train is approaching, the civil guard will stop the runners. In both cases, running can only be continued upon clear indication from the police or civil guard.
A lead cyclist will precede the first runner, and a trailing cyclist will mark the end of the field. Where the route allows, a sweep bus will also follow the runners. The race coverage applies to the section of the route between the lead and trailing cyclists. The sweep vehicle will proceed at a pace matching the daily time limit; those who fall behind must withdraw from that day's race but may start the next day. Runners who drop out are required to board the sweep bus, which will follow the field and transport them to the finish.
The race takes place on a route that is NOT closed to traffic, so participants should expect the presence of other road users.
I/b. During the race, where the route is designated on a bicycle-friendly road (public road), competitors may only use the right-hand lane in the direction of travel, or the right-hand side of the road in the direction of travel on 1-lane roads. On cycle paths, you must ride on the right side of the road. Where the cycle path runs on the pavement, you must run on it.
If there is any vehicle on the road or a faster runner arrives, you must turn right. The regulations of the KRESZ apply to the runners and companions on the entire route of the race, and compliance with them is mandatory.
I/c. Since the race is on a bicycle or bicycle-friendly road NOT closed to traffic, it is not recommended to wear headphones that dampen the noise of the outside world on both ears for the safety of the competitors.
I/d. bszm.maratonfutas.hu contains a detailed interactive route map for each day, as well as route maps and a downloadable gpx track. The most important information will be made available in advance on the event information page of the competition and in the BSI Sport application.
We provide orientation with appropriate signs (signs, painting, tape) on the route. The signs and ribbons are placed not long before the field, but unfortunately, it may happen that someone moves them or rotates them as a joke or out of malice.
We use boards to indicate the daily distance, every 5 kilometers. Every day we mark the marathon distance of that day. The route also marks the 50th, 100th, 150th kilometers of the entire distance, as well as the 5th, 10th, 15th and 20th kilometers of the Öböl Half Marathon, the 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, the 30th, 35th and 40th kilometers, as well as the 5th and 10th kilometers of the 15 km BSZM Entrance
B.C. The signs of the Balaton cycle path and the direction signs posted by BSI and the orange/red arrows painted on the road help you follow the route.
